About The Position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for finding candidates for Arkana Laboratories before they are needed. This role is part of Arkana's HR Team and involves proactively sourcing candidates, building and nurturing talent pipelines, managing full-cycle recruitment, and handling the initial stages of onboarding. The position recruits for a wide range of roles, excluding physician recruiting. The role is not remote, but hybrid work may be considered after an assimilation period. Recruitment firms and contractors will not be considered. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience/education.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role with recruiting and pipeline development experience.
  • HR Certification (SHRM or HRCI) or willingness to obtain within 12-18 months.
  • Experience as a system administrator and expert user of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), preferably Greenhouse.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, regulations, and compliance requirements, including those related to Federal Contractors and Affirmative Action Plans (AAP).
  • Experience using various AI platforms to scale HR processes for improved customer/candidate experience and efficiency.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel etc).
  • Working knowledge of how to apply AI tools within Greenhouse and the ATS workflow, and in day-to-day HR work, to improve efficiency and the candidate and employee experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of federal and state employment law as it applies to recruitment and hiring (e.g., EEO, ADA, FCRA, work authorization/immigration, and OFCCP/Affirmative Action obligations), with the ability to coach hiring managers and escalate complex matters.
  • Proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter and other proactive sourcing channels and tools (professional networks and candidate databases).
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to drive for business purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively source candidates and build/maintain talent pipelines for recurring and hard-to-fill roles through direct outreach, networking, referrals, professional communities, and sourcing tools.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, partnering with hiring managers to define roles, develop recruitment strategies, evaluate candidates, and negotiate preliminary offer terms.
  • Oversee the transition from offer to onboarding, resolving pre-employment screening issues and maintaining HRIS processes and checklists.
  • Administer Greenhouse (ATS) as a subject-matter expert, configuring workflows, managing vendor relationships, and setting standards for candidate communication.
  • Identify and apply AI tools within the recruiting workflow and HR tasks to improve efficiency and candidate/employee experience.
  • Maintain knowledge of employment laws (EEO, ADA, FCRA, federal contractor obligations) and train hiring managers on compliant practices.
  • Provide administrative support for immigration and work authorization matters, including paperwork and fee processing.
  • Manage Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) processes and reporting, ensuring compliance and identifying policy changes.
  • Collect, monitor, and report on recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, quality-of-hire, etc.) with context and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the Chief People Officer to analyze staffing needs, support workforce planning, and improve sourcing and processes based on data.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
