About The Position

We are seeking a driven and experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist with a proven track record in the construction and skilled trades industries to lead the recruiting efforts for one of our business units. This role will focus on the full-cycle recruiting for EMC Mechanical Services, our mechanical contracting company, and recruit for positions including service technicians, project-based roles, and select corporate positions. In this role, you will partner closely with hiring managers to source, attract, and hire the best talent in the industry. The ideal candidate will assist with recruiting strategy and offer unique ideas for attracting qualified talent.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of talent acquisition experience with a focus on construction, skilled trades, or related industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • Prior experience working within an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), sourcing tools, and social media platforms.
  • Ability to proactively network within the construction industry in Greater Richmond area.
  • High technical acumen with regards to computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.), and a willingness to learn new systems as required.
  • Comfortable working in fast paced environment where priorities can shift quickly, all while maintaining a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal), attention to detail, organizational skills, and a desire to go above and beyond for our team.
  • Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
  • Must have positive points on state driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
  • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep knowledge of trade roles (HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, etc.) and the construction hiring landscape is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end recruiting process for field, service, and office roles.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, timelines, and hiring priorities.
  • Conduct phone screens, interviews, and coordinate hiring decisions.
  • Proactively source candidates using job boards, ATS, referrals, social media, and industry-specific channels.
  • Build and maintain pipelines for high-volume and hard-to-fill skilled trade positions.
  • Attend career fairs, trade school events, and community recruiting initiatives as needed.
  • Promote the company’s culture, values, and career opportunities to prospective candidates.
  • Ensure a positive, professional, and timely candidate experience.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruiting workflows and hiring efficiency.
  • Assist with offer letters, pre-employment screenings, and onboarding coordination.
  • Partner with HR and operations teams to ensure smooth new-hire transitions.
