We are seeking a driven and resourceful Sourcer to identify, engage, and build pipelines of 1099 roofing contractors (sales reps, project managers, installers, or crews, depending on your model). This role is critical to fueling our growth by consistently delivering qualified, motivated contractor talent to our recruiting team. The ideal candidate is hands-on, persistent, comfortable with blue-collar and commission-based talent markets.

Requirements

  • Experience sourcing or recruiting 1099 contractors, commission-based roles, or blue-collar / field-based talent
  • Strong internet research and sourcing skills (Boolean search, social platforms, job boards, grassroots sourcing)
  • Experience using ATS - Greenhouse
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of organization and follow-through
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume recruiting environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting in roofing, construction, solar, home improvement, or related industries
  • Familiarity with contractor compliance basics (1099 vs W-2 distinctions)
  • Experience supporting multi-location or multi-state hiring
  • Background in sales or commission-driven recruiting environments
  • Persistent and resilient—doesn’t get discouraged by low response rates
  • Street-smart and practical; understands contractor motivations
  • Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency
  • Relationship-focused and respectful of candidates’ time
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving hiring needs

Responsibilities

  • Proactively source 1099 roofing contractors using platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook groups, Indeed, industry forums, referrals, and local market research
  • Identify contractors with relevant experience in roofing, home improvement, construction sales, or related trades
  • Build and maintain a steady pipeline of qualified contractor candidates across multiple markets
  • Craft personalized, compelling outreach messages that clearly explain the opportunity, earning potential, and contractor model
  • Conduct initial screening conversations to assess experience, motivation, availability, and alignment with 1099 work
  • Maintain professional, respectful communication and timely follow-ups with candidates
  • Partner closely with recruiters and hiring managers to understand contractor profiles, market needs, and hiring priorities
  • Track sourcing activity, outreach, and candidate status accurately in the ATS (Greenhouse)
  • Adjust sourcing strategies based on feedback, response rates, and contractor performance outcomes
  • Develop a strong understanding of local roofing labor markets and competitor hiring strategies
  • Identify new sourcing channels and referral opportunities within contractor communities
