The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is looking for an energetic and people-focused Talent Acquisition Partner to join our HR team. About the Role In this role, you’ll manage full-cycle recruiting—from sourcing and screening to extending offers and onboarding. You’ll partner with hiring managers to develop effective recruiting strategies, craft compelling job advertisements, and identify top talent across the state. This position also emphasizes community outreach, including attending career fairs, building relationships with schools and organizations, and representing DHHS at events. You’ll succeed here if you’re a strong communicator, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Two years of coursework or training in personnel management, business administration, public administration or office/administrative or three years of related experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Collaborative mindset with a customer service orientation
  • Ability to build trust and influence outcomes effectively

Responsibilities

  • Manage full life cycle recruitment for a variety of DHHS positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop job postings, screening tools, and interview questions.
  • Creatively source candidates using multiple channels while ensuring an excellent candidate experience.
  • Research and recommend innovative advertising platforms and recruitment strategies.
  • Review applications, conduct interviews, and extend offers of employment.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines to meet current and future workforce needs.
  • Engage with high schools, colleges, and professional organizations to promote DHHS as an employer of choice.
  • Lead or support special recruitment projects and outreach initiatives.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and continuously improve recruiting practices.
  • Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners and the broader Talent Acquisition team.
