About The Position

Responsible for creating & executing recruitment strategies, sourcing top talent, maintaining a candidate database, and coordinating the entire process in conjunction with our hiring managers. Screening, interviewing, and recommending placement of candidates for all entry-level, technical, professional, and management positions from both internal and external sources. Seeks out networks and sources of candidates, including industry and/or minority-specific sources, via Internet, print ads, direct sourcing, colleges, and job fairs. Refers applicants for particular job openings, administers pre-employment tests, and conducts background checks. Ensures compliance with all legal aspects of the employment function. Job Duties: Performs all aspects of recruiting for the organization, from defining the position requirements and the initial posting of a position through the onboarding process. This includes but is not limited to performing searches for qualified candidates according to relevant job requirements using networking, internet recruiting resources, cold calls, media computer databases, recruiting firms, and employee referrals. This position also includes posting jobs, placing ads, screening resumes, interviewing candidates, candidate testing, business and personal reference checks, education verification, criminal background checks, scheduling drug screens; arranging travel and lodging for applicants, and facilitates relocation requirements; extending job offers, negotiating start pay, bonuses, vacation, and other incentives; position control and maintaining associate data in HRIS system; applicant orientation to company and company benefits and initial new hire processing; and any administrative necessities associated with the recruiting and hiring process. Establishes and maintains relationships with hiring managers to develop specific recruiting plans and maintains constant coordination with the hiring manager. Assist with all aspects of current and future hiring and business needs with each department. Develops and maintains professional relationships with college, university, and community college placement offices as a source to generate qualified applicants. Schedules and attends job/career fairs with appropriate staff as a source to generate qualified applicants. Directs the efforts of employment agencies and search firms, including negotiating and controlling employment-related fees. Prepares and maintains all staffing records, including records on recruiting activities, hiring statistics, job description maintenance, job evaluation results, and maintains records on recruiting activities as required by law and statutes. Develops and conducts training programs for managers designed to improve recruiting and hiring efficiencies and reduce turnover. Provides additional support to the VP, Human Resources, Program and Employee Relations Manager, HR Business Partners, and Department managers on HR related matters as required. Participates in the development of the annual recruitment budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (human resource management, business, psychology, sociology, economics)
  • Two or more years of experience in direct recruitment. Experience in other HR functions is a plus.
  • Two-year degree with four years' direct recruiting experience or six years' direct recruiting experience.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicant tracking systems, productivity software, database management, and internet search.
  • Familiarity with job boards and computer systems designed specifically for HR.
  • Proven success in conducting interviews using various methods (phone, video, email, in-person).
  • Experience in developing a recruitment strategy.
  • Proven success in building relationships with management and building relationships between the candidate and the company.
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Compliance and regulatory knowledge relating to fair hiring.
  • Demonstrates ability to operate automated systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, database applications, and personnel (HRIS)
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate with a wide variety of staff at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • An individual must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and must be able to occasionally stand for long periods of time.
