About The Position

The Talent Acquisition Manager will support United Way’s Pathways to Work initiative by connecting skilled, qualified jobseekers to targeted employment opportunities with employer partners and advancing living wage job placements for young adults. This role will collaborate closely with the Employer Partnership Manager to source and deliver qualified candidates and reduce hiring barriers for Pathways to Work employer partners. The Manager will identify and screen candidates, develop and maintain talent pipelines, support employer referrals, and collaborate with community and workforce partners. The primary goal of the Talent Acquisition Manager is to ensure employer partners receive qualified candidates for targeted open roles while supporting job seekers through the application, referral, and hiring process in collaboration with the Employer Partnership Manager and participating employer partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in human resources management or similar field, or relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
  • Two or three years of experience in a talent acquisition or similar role
  • Proficiency with online sourcing platforms, social media, CV databases, and professional networks
  • Knowledge of applicant tracking systems
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to execute key performance indicators
  • Proven ability to manage multiple clients and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Devise and implement sourcing strategies to build pipelines for potential applicants
  • Source applicants through online channels, such as LinkedIn and other professional networks
  • Support outreach efforts to attract job seekers aligned with employer needs
  • Review resumes, conduct initial phone screens, and verify basic qualifications
  • Communicate regularly with candidates to provide updates, next steps, and support throughout the process
  • Share qualified candidate profiles with employer partners
  • Build close relationships with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, candidate selection criteria and to ensure clear expectations for candidates and interviewers
  • Help coordinate interviews and gather employer feedback to support hiring decisions
  • Support partnerships with community-based organizations and workforce partners
  • Assist in coordinating referrals and expanding candidate pipelines
  • Participate in cross-functional activities across UWMD that contribute to UWMD’s goals in building and sustaining a high-performance organization and coordinate with internal teams such as Marketing, Resource Development and Volunteer Engagement on activities that drive greater resources and impact for the Pathways to Work program.
  • Track candidate activity and progress using internal systems and spreadsheets
  • Support reporting on placement outcomes and engagement metrics
  • Collaborate with program and recruitment team members to refine sourcing approaches
  • Adjust outreach strategies based on employer needs and candidate feedback
  • Coordinate and participate in virtual and in-person job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach activities
  • Assist with event planning, scheduling, coordination preparation, follow-up, and candidate engagement
