About The Position

Vertex is seeking a high-impact, strategic recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team as an Associate Director supporting senior hiring across Finance, Accounting, and Legal. This role offers broad visibility across senior leadership and requires exceptional business fluency, executive presence, and relationship management. The ideal candidate brings deep executive search expertise and functional knowledge of Finance, Accounting and/or Legal, enabling them to understand the talent landscape, leverage existing networks, and deliver business-aligned hiring strategies in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. This candidate is a bold, business-minded talent advisor who is passionate about building teams that drive excellence. The Associate Director will serve as a trusted partner to senior leaders, shaping and executing talent strategies that align with Vertex's mission to transform lives.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated recruitment expertise in Finance, Accounting and/or Legal functions.
  • Proven ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders with confidence and credibility.
  • Expertise in executive search methodologies, sourcing strategies, and candidate assessment techniques.
  • Strong storytelling and analytical skills; ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • Typically requires 8+ years of progressive recruiting experience, including 3+ years in executive search or senior-level hiring.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in biotech/pharma or other highly regulated industries strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment primarily focused on Director+ roles across Finance, Accounting, and Legal functions.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, offering market intelligence, compensation benchmarking, and talent mapping.
  • Deliver a white-glove candidate experience from initial outreach through offer negotiation, reflecting Vertex's commitment to excellence.
  • Build and maintain a network of senior-level talent through proactive sourcing and relationship management.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, and business leaders on succession planning, anticipating supply-demand gaps, and refining our workforce strategy.
  • Use data-driven insights to influence hiring decisions and optimize recruitment strategies.
  • Drive change management by adopting innovative technologies and processes, while demonstrating an enterprise mindset by setting standards and aligning recruitment strategies across the TA ecosystem.
  • Leverage brand strategy to position Vertex as an employer of choice.
