About The Position

Serves as a member of the Health Services Talent Acquisition (HSTA) team providing quality customer service and support to internal and external customers. Ensures accurate, efficient administration of recruitment operational processes to include screening employment applications, scheduling interviews, and engaging with potential candidates, hiring managers, and peers to support filling vacancies across the agency. Assists with administrative processes such as obtaining information to successfully onboard employees. Support activities include interview coordination with the hiring panel and candidates, communicating with candidates sharing information regarding the position such as the Position Description, Physical Demands, and Authority of Release prior to interviews, assisting with building a recruitment file for new hires, and initiating pay requests, background, and reference checks.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources laws, policies, procedures and business practices
  • Experience working in an administrative support role
  • Knowledge of the principles for providing quality customer service
  • Ability to engage with diverse groups of managers, employees and candidates
  • Demonstrated ability to apply and interpret personnel policies and guidelines
  • Ability to organize work and complete tasks in a timely, accurate manner
  • Skilled in tracking information, multi-tasking and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner as part of a collaborative team

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of recruitment processes
  • Knowledge of Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) policies and procedures related to Human Resources
  • Experience working in a Human Resources environment
  • Experience working with Applicant Tracking systems and HRIS systems
