About The Position

The Takeout Specialist promptly answers the phone with a smile in their voice, accurately takes orders, and ensures everything is correct before the guest leaves. This role also handles all orders placed by Door Dash and Grubhub. When not working on food orders, the Takeout Specialist assists in greeting and seating guests and supports serving staff in the dining area. The position requires providing the same quality of service as if guests were dining in the restaurant, informing them of specials and menu changes, making genuine recommendations, and answering questions about food and beverages. Responsibilities include taking food and beverage orders, entering them into the point-of-sale system, and ensuring all necessary items for takeout meals (silverware, condiments, napkins, mints) are included. The role also involves maintaining a clean and stocked to-go area, presenting checks, processing payments, and thanking guests. Additionally, the Takeout Specialist assists with seating guests, supports front-of-house staff with cleanliness and guest interaction, and maintains COVID-related mandates.

Requirements

  • Be able to communicate & understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of front-of-house restaurant procedures & functions.
  • Possess basic math skills & have the ability to handle money & operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
  • Be able to safely lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must have exceptional grooming habits.

Responsibilities

  • Promptly answer the phone with a smile in your voice.
  • Accurately take orders and ensure everything is correct before the guest leaves.
  • Handle all orders placed by Door Dash and Grubhub.
  • Assist in greeting and seating guests when not working on food orders.
  • Assist serving staff in the dining area.
  • Provide the same quality of service as if the guests are sitting in the restaurant.
  • Inform guests of specials & menu changes.
  • Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
  • Answer questions about food & beverages.
  • Take food & beverage orders & enter them in our point-of-sale system.
  • Ensure all items guests might need to enjoy their meal(s) are in the bag(s) including to go silverware, condiments, extra napkins, wet naps, & Recovery logo mint(s).
  • Make sure the to-go area is stocked for the next shift.
  • Maintain a clean service area.
  • Present the check to the guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change.
  • Thank guests & invite them back.
  • Assist seating of guests in the main dining area.
  • Continually support the Front of house staff with cleanliness, guest interaction including maintaining Covid related mandates.
