About The Position

The Takeout Specialist promptly answers the phone with a smile in their voice, accurately takes orders, and ensures everything is correct before the guest leaves. This role also handles all orders placed by Door Dash and Grubhub. When not working on food orders, the specialist assists in greeting and seating guests and supporting serving staff in the dining area. The goal is to provide the same quality of service as if the guests were dining in the restaurant.

Requirements

• Be able to communicate & understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
• Must have a basic knowledge of front-of-house restaurant procedures & functions.
• Possess basic math skills & have the ability to handle money & operate a point-of-sale system.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Be able to safely lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must have exceptional grooming habits.

Responsibilities

• Promptly answer the phone with a smile in your voice.
• Accurately take orders and ensure everything is correct before the guest leaves.
• Handle all orders placed by Door Dash and Grubhub.
• Assist in greeting and seating guests when not working on food orders.
• Assist serving staff in the dining area.
• Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
• Make recommendations guests will enjoy.
• Answer questions about food and beverages.
• Take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
• Ensure all necessary items (to-go silverware, condiments, napkins, mints) are included with food orders.
• Maintain a clean service area.
• Present checks, accept payment, process credit card charges, and make change.
• Thank guests and invite them back.
• Assist with seating guests in the main dining area.
• Support Front of House staff with cleanliness and guest interaction, including maintaining Covid-related mandates.
