Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and basic computer applications.
• Ability to read architectural, civil, structural, and electrical plans.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn estimating and preconstruction processes.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Internship or prior experience in construction, electrical contracting, or estimating.
• Experience with takeoff software such as Accubid, Bluebeam Revu, or PlanSwift.
• Familiarity with electrical materials, equipment, and installation methods.
• Understanding of NEC requirements and basic electrical systems.
• Experience reviewing project drawings and performing quantity surveys.
• Exposure to BIM/VDC platforms and digital construction workflows.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications.
• Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates.
• Read and interpret architectural, civil, structural, and electrical plans.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.
• Learn and apply estimating and preconstruction processes.
• Communicate effectively regarding project details and tasks.
