About The Position

The Tailor position at Levi's® Retail Store in Birmingham, AL (The Summit) is responsible for executing basic and technical alteration services, exemplifying strong customer service skills, and educating store teams on tailor shop offerings. The role also involves assisting on the selling floor and fitting room as needed and complying with all Levi's® policies and programs. This is a full-time position.

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of denim industry and current/upcoming trends.
• Understanding of textiles and fabrics with proven skills in sewing, tailoring and textile repair.
• Awareness of design and details
• Strong communication skills both internally and externally.
• Minimum of 1 years of sewing/tailoring experience and a strong knowledge of jeans construction.
• Thorough knowledge of machines used in the sewing of denim products.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelors or Associates Degree preferred
• Formal Training in apparel design preferred

Responsibilities

• Executes and is responsible for basic alteration services (i.e. Hemming, patch and repair, tapering, etc.)
• Performs technical alterations (e.g. Fitting/tailoring items other than jeans, where more technical equipment is necessary; detailed appearance altering processes.)
• Exemplifies and possesses strong customer service skills to elevate our clients experience.
• Educates and trains store teams on customer offerings and services provided by the Tailor Shop.
• Assist with responsibilities on the selling floor and fitting room as needed or as requested by store management.
• Comply with all Levi’s® policy and programs.
