About The Position

As a Tailor/Seamstress (Production Associate) at Galls, you will be hands-on altering uniforms and equipment for Public Safety professionals. You will ensure all measurements and fittings are done properly, accurately, and efficiently. Galls will train in all the processes needed to be successful in this role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Ability to effectively read/receive work instructions in English
• Extremely detail-oriented and quality-focused – you’re not happy with mistakes
• Solid communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, and lift, with or without reasonable accommodation

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in Alterations preferred
• Well-versed on industrial Sewing machines preferred

Responsibilities

• Read and accurately identify the customer’s needs per the Work Instruction Document
• Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations with ability to problem solve individual sizing issues
• Operate a heat press safely and efficiently
• Perform uniform sewing, alternations, and embellishments with accuracy and efficiency to include taking up stride, lengthening/shortening tails on shirts, tapering shirts, adjusting waists, hemming trousers, mending tears, replacing zippers, applying patches, applying name strips, applying striping, and applying patches
• Operate industrial sewing machinery and meet production deadlines
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
