About The Position

The Engineering Technician III performs advanced-level technical maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of US Military Utility Task Vehicles (UTVs). This position ensures all vehicles remain mission-capable through the execution of Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS), technical evaluations, and corrective actions in accordance with applicable standards, technical manuals, and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Interim DoD Secret clearance is required; an active DoD Secret clearance is preferred
  • High School diploma or GED and 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency in ground vehicle PMCS, with specific experience on US Military Tactical or Utility Vehicles.
  • Ability to perform technical troubleshooting using systematic diagnostic processes.
  • Familiarity with applicable maintenance publications, forms, and reporting systems.
  • Competence in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialty diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work independently, manage task priorities, and maintain accuracy in documentation.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and risk mitigation while performing vehicle maintenance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior military or defense contractor experience supporting US Military vehicle fleets.
  • Experience with GCSS-MC or other DoD maintenance systems.
  • Certifications in automotive, diesel, or ground support equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed PMCS on US Military UTVs to identify wear, damage, or deficiencies in accordance with applicable TM/IM guidelines.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and driveline systems using specialized tools and test equipment.
  • Execute corrective maintenance and component replacement to restore full operational capability.
  • Document all inspections, maintenance actions, and parts usage in required systems (e.g., GCSS-MC or local maintenance logs).
  • Advise supervisors on vehicle status, emerging issues, and resource needs affecting operational readiness.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, and system schematics to support troubleshooting and repair activities.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior technicians on PMCS procedures, safety practices, and maintenance standards.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations, environmental policies, and applicable maintenance procedures.
  • Coordinate with supply personnel to identify parts requirements, initiate requisitions, and track equipment readiness.
  • Support fielding, upgrades, and configuration changes to UTV platforms as directed.
