About The Position

As a Tactical Security Supervisor in Downtown Toronto, you'll lead a team of guards, ensuring that security operations run smoothly and provide exceptional customer service — ensuring safety, providing support, and protecting public spaces, at a post-secondary institution. You will be a key player in maintaining a safe and secure atmosphere for site visitors, students, staff, and community members. Requirements

  • Authorization to work in Canada
  • Minimum 1 year Tactical supervisor security experience
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification (WSIB Approved)
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with Vulnerable population
  • Ability to commute to Downtown Toronto with no onsite parking
  • Working Knowledge of Criminal Code of Canada, and Trespass to Property Act enforcement
  • Availability throughout the week (Full-Time, must be available for 12 hour continental shifts)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, documentation and report-writing abilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for 12 hour shifts
  • Ability to conduct interior and exterior patrols in extreme weather conditions

Responsibilities

  • Engage with the public compassionately, especially individuals from vulnerable sectors, showing empathy and respect in every interaction
  • Lead a team of on-site security guards
  • Complete daily and incident reports, issue and manage access cards
  • Ensure all security guards follow and stay updated on instructions
  • De-escalate conflicts calmly using sound judgment, communication, and situational awareness
  • Act as a first responder, providing immediate support in medical or crisis situations until emergency services arrive, as well as supporting on-site evacuations
  • Patrol high traffic environments — including parking lots, stairwells, and exteriors — to maintain a visible and reassuring presence
  • Monitor alarms and surveillance systems, ensuring equipment is functional and incidents are addressed promptly
  • Deliver professional customer service, assisting clients and visitors with inquiries or concerns
  • Document incidents and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services as required, i.e. writing detailed incident reports and maintaining accurate records
  • Enforcing the Criminal Code of Canada (Section 494), Trespass to Property Act, and site-specific regulations
  • Supporting community engagement efforts to promote safety and awareness
