As a Tactical Security Guard, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling environments such as retail stores, airports, security facility centers, etc. This job posting is for a position that is currently vacant in the organization. Requirements
- Be authorized to work in Canada
- Hold a valid security guard license
- First Aid & CPR certification required
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with vulnerable populations in a tactical or healthcare security setting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
- Ability to work 12-hour continental rotational shifts (days & nights)
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises to ensure a safe and secure environment
- Perform patient watch duties, maintaining constant observation and ensuring safety
- Demonstrate empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients and visitors
- Monitor and respond to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, substance use, or distress
- Identify and de-escalate potentially aggressive or high-risk situations using approved techniques
- Control access to restricted areas and verify identities when required
- Respond promptly to incidents, alarms and emergency codes within the hospital
- Complete accurate and detailed incident reports
- Work collaboratively with hospital staff and emergency responders when required
