Tactical Data Link Subject Matter Expert
About The Position
Linchpin Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Tactical Data Link Subject Matter Expert to support the Joint Interoperability and Data Link Training Center. This role involves providing advanced Tactical Data Link expertise, analyzing emerging missions, developing courses, offering interoperability support, and leading technical curriculum development for U.S., allied, and coalition forces. The ideal candidate will possess extensive Tactical Data Link experience, prior military instructor experience, and demonstrated expertise in analyzing emerging systems, developing advanced training requirements, and integrating new technologies into Joint Tactical Operations Interface curricula. The position requires an active DoD Top Secret Clearance and is a full-time, onsite role from Monday to Friday, with potential adjustments for extended training periods, weekends, practical exercises, and federal holidays. Travel within CONUS and OCONUS may be required for mobile training teams, allied training, exercises, and other mission requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Education, Instructional Systems Design, or a related field.
- Graduate of the JT-201 course.
- Minimum of 15 years of Tactical Data Link experience.
- Prior military instructor experience.
- Experience conducting Front-End Analysis or similar training-needs analysis.
- Experience developing advanced technical curricula, syllabi, learning objectives, and courseware.
- Experience analyzing emerging technologies, systems, platforms, or operational capabilities.
- Experience supporting Joint Tactical Data Link, interoperability, or Multi-TDL network missions.
- Experience coordinating with program offices, acquisition agencies, laboratories, test organizations, or operational commands.
- Experience developing technical reports, white papers, briefings, or recommendations for senior leaders.
- Advanced research, analysis, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong technical writing, briefing, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to translate complex operational and technical requirements into effective training solutions.
- Strong curriculum development, instructional design, and adult-learning skills.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary working groups and technical discussions.
- Strong stakeholder coordination and liaison capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple emerging-mission efforts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic curriculum-development tools.
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities
- Support the evolution of the Joint Tactical Operations Interface Training Program by analyzing emerging mission systems and translating new capabilities into effective training solutions.
- Conduct Front-End Analyses, evaluate Joint Mission Essential Tasks, identify training requirements, and recommend whether emerging capabilities should be incorporated into existing curricula or developed into new advanced courses.
- Develop syllabi, learning objectives, technical courseware, topic packages, and implementation recommendations.
- Serve as a senior technical liaison to program offices, Service Battle Laboratories, acquisition and interoperability organizations, and other stakeholders supporting the Multi-TDL Network.
- Lead pilot deliveries for newly developed courses and train and certify additional instructors.
- Prepare executive-level reports, white papers, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with military, Government, contractor, acquisition, and technical organizations.
- Perform Front-End Analysis of emerging systems, technologies, and operational capabilities.
- Define best training standards, conditions, and instructional methods.
- Integrate emerging technologies into Joint Tactical Data Link curricula.
- Develop emerging-mission repositories, topic packages, and implementation recommendations.
- Conduct technical curriculum development, courseware updates, and configuration-control reviews.
- Prepare white papers, trip reports, bullet background papers, and technical briefings.
- Coordinate with program offices and represent the organization at interoperability working groups.
- Provide leadership during pilot course deliveries and certification of additional instructors.
