About The Position

Helix Resources is seeking dependable and hardworking Tackers to assist welders with fitting and tacking metal components in preparation for final welding. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial, fabrication, or shipyard environments and is comfortable supporting welders and fitters with assembling steel plates, structural components, and piping. The role involves reading basic blueprints and welding symbols, measuring and positioning materials, and using tools and welding equipment safely. Tackers must follow company safety procedures and job-site requirements, maintain an organized work area, and be able to perform physical work throughout the shift. Additional tasks may be assigned, so a positive, can-do attitude is required.

Requirements

• Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work as part of a team.
• Ability to read measurements and use basic hand tools.
• Ability to lift materials and perform physical work throughout the shift.
• Must be able to pass required drug screening, background checks, and any applicable pre-employment physical.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a Tacker, Welder Helper, or in a similar industrial position.
• Basic knowledge of welding processes and metal fabrication.
• Experience in industrial, fabrication, or shipyard environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform tack welding to temporarily hold metal components in place before final welding.
• Assist welders and fitters with assembling steel plates, structural components, and piping.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
• Measure, align, and position materials according to specifications.
• Use hand tools, measuring equipment, and welding equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and job-site requirements.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
