Requirements

  • A minimum age of 18 due to workplace safety requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license that meets state requirements (CDL Class B with tanker endorsement required).
  • Clean driving record (MVR) in line with company standards.
  • Ability to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical exam.
  • Willingness to travel, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and take on night or weekend shifts when needed.
  • Documentation to meet I-9 requirements.
  • Professional, courteous attitude and commitment to teamwork and safety.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred, prior construction experience a plus.
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
  • Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed.
  • Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
  • Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
  • Reasonable accommodations provided as necessary to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate tack trucks and heavy equipment in road, site, and highway construction and paving projects.
  • Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain required documentation, and ensure vehicles meet DOT and company standards.
  • Follow dispatch instructions, company policies, and all applicable laws and safety regulations (OSHA/MSHA).
  • Load and unload materials—occasionally manually as required.
  • Monitor vehicle performance, maintain mileage logs, and keep all equipment clean and in excellent working condition.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment, maintaining constant communication and supporting co-workers.
  • Assist in training and mentoring less experienced team members.
  • Take pride in delivering quality work and maintaining a safe site for everyone.
  • Performing general labor duties and other tasks as assigned—every day brings something new.
