About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Technical Specialist with a focus on Tableau Administration. This role involves the installation, configuration, upgrading, and maintenance of Tableau Server/Cloud environments, including DEV, TEST, and PROD. The administrator will be responsible for monitoring server health, performance, and capacity, as well as applying patches and version upgrades. Key responsibilities also include managing users, groups, roles, and permissions, integrating authentication methods, and enforcing security policies. Content governance, performance tuning, data connectivity management, and automation of administrative tasks are crucial. The role also entails providing Tier 2/3 support, assisting developers, creating documentation, and conducting best practice sessions.

Requirements

Total 8+ years of experience
3+ years of experience as a Tableau Administrator (or similar role)
Experience with Tableau Server / Tableau Cloud administration
Experience managing environments (DEV / TEST / PROD)
Experience monitoring server health, performance, and capacity
Experience applying patches and version upgrades
Experience managing users, groups, roles, and permissions
Experience with authentication integration (LDAP / Active Directory / SSO / OAuth)
Experience enforcing row_level and project_level security
Experience managing projects, workbooks, data sources, and extracts
Experience promoting dashboards between environments
Experience monitoring response times, background tasks, and extract refreshes
Experience tuning dashboards and extracts for optimal performance
Experience scaling server resources
Experience troubleshooting failures and outages
Experience configuring and managing live connections, extracts, and scheduled refreshes
Experience handling data source authentication and credential rotation
Experience supporting connectivity to databases, cloud warehouses, and files
Experience tracking usage metrics and adoption KPIs
Experience automating recurring admin tasks using Tableau REST API, TabCmd, or Python/scripting
Experience creating monitoring and alerting dashboards
Experience providing Tier_2/Tier_3 Tableau support
Experience assisting developers with publishing and performance issues
Experience creating admin and user documentation
Experience conducting best_practice sessions for dashboard developers

Responsibilities

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Tableau Server / Tableau Cloud
Manage environments (DEV / TEST / PROD)
Monitor server health, performance, and capacity

Enforce content lifecycle standards (certified, deprecated, archived)
Promote dashboards between environments
Remove unused or redundant content

Tune dashboards and extracts for optimal performance
Scale server resources based on usage patterns
Troubleshoot failures and outages
