About The Position

About Kindred Table Kindred Table is a chef-inspired, New American restaurant opening inside the Crowne Plaza Lansing. Our name says a lot about who we are: Kindred speaks to people who feel like family, and Table represents the place where they gather. We’re building a space where warm hospitality meets bold, unfussy food made with care. A place to gather, celebrate, unwind, and eat really good food cooked by people who take pride in what they do. We’re opening January 2026, and we’re looking for cooks who want to help us bring this experience to life from day one. The Role As a cook at Kindred Table, you’ll bring our menu to life: from scratch-made soups and sauces to perfectly cooked proteins and bright, fresh sides. You’ll be part of an energized team that values creativity, consistency, and purpose in the kitchen. We’re cooking the kind of food people remember. Comforting, polished, seasonal, and crafted with intention.

Requirements

Ability to cook food to order; produce soups, sauces, proteins, cut vegetables and fruits, and create displays for buffets.
Meet time standards to ensure guest satisfaction.
Communication skills, written and verbal, in the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Basic technology and computational skills.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including, nights, weekends and/or holidays.
Ability to read and follow recipes.
Ability to navigate and use necessary software and applications.
Ability to perceive and detect uncleanliness and soiled surfaces.
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, basic food safety practices and abide by them.
Efficient knife skills and ability to prepare food using the necessary equipment.
Ability to remain calm under pressure.
A high school or equivalent education is preferred.
Minimum of six months of prior culinary experience is required.
