About The Position

As a T56/Helicopters Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Engineer you will deliver engineering solutions that deliver value to Rolls-Royce and achieve business life-cycle cost savings. You will create value by engineering optimized MRO methods through integrating between Rolls-Royce and the Maintenance and Overhaul network, with special focus on driving efficiencies / developing competitive solutions for Rolls-Royce. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of aftermarket engine support, OR Master’s degree, OR PhD degree
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of knowledge of aftermarket maintenance, overhaul, or repair services.
  • Knowledge of functionality of relevant components and systems with full consideration of the intended form, fit and function of gas turbine engines.
  • Engineering experience in aerospace or automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering and special processes, gas turbine engine, propulsion, or electrical control system experience
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and apply practical manufacturing thinking
  • Knowledge and understanding of publication specifications (Industry Specs, ATA 100/iSpec2200, and S1000D).
  • Knowledge and understanding of Engineering specs, parts lists, drawings, etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of MIL-STD-1388/GEIA-STD-0007.
  • A&P licensed mechanic.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer support for the respective Helicopter (M250/RR300/CTS80) and/or T56 aftermarkets, including support for Aircraft on Ground (AOGs), incoming safety or service investigations, technical queries, and evaluation of in-service engines and hardware with conditions outside of current manual limits (Technical Variances)
  • Support development and approval of the technical content for technical publications/communication (used by OEM, overhaul shops and customers)
  • Define and maintain technical requirements for component repair processes and ensure the component repair network meets them.
  • Ensure that the required Maintenance, Operational and Overhaul Technical data meets the Company's Regulatory requirements, contractual and customer commitments and that delivery is managed through the technical authoring supply chain.
  • Understand product service deterioration and collate findings from MRO facilities to feed into the product maturity strategy and reliability/safety opportunities.
  • Coordinate with the Authorized Maintenance Centers (AMCs), Authorized Maintenance Repair & Overhaul Centers (AMROCs), and Authorized Repair Facilities (ARFs) servicing T56/Helicopters products
  • Interface between Manufacturing Engineering, Authorized Maintenance Centers (AMCs), Aftermarket Customers/Operators, Design and other stakeholders to provide ongoing support and identify improvements.
  • Ensure technical solutions meet agreed requirements, including but not limited to returning service run components back to serviceable condition.
  • Support the set up and approval of new repair and overhaul facilities and capabilities.
  • Assist with design and support of Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
