We are currently looking for a T&D Supervisor to join our team at the Port Hawkesbury depot in a permanent position. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be a key leader driving operational excellence, ensuring safe and efficient service delivery while optimizing our team's potential to provide exceptional customer experiences. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative, high-performing teams and communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated negotiation, communication, organizational and leadership capabilities.
  • Adaptable to change and a self-motivated individual who is committed to optimizing the work management and scheduling processes.

Nice To Haves

  • A Power Line Technician (PLT) "Red-Seal" Certificated is preferred
  • Candidates with a certificate in another Electrical Trade, Engineering Technology, or as an Electrical Technician may also be considered.
  • Good working knowledge of computers, knowledge of the work management and scheduling system, and experience in electrical overhead and underground distribution operations would be preferred.
  • Previous supervision of crews or external contractors would be an asset.
  • Experience in an electrical utility would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Nova Scotia Power’s standards for customer service are met or exceeded by utilizing a skilled workforce to complete operating, maintenance, and construction activities in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • May be required to work throughout the province based on the business requirements.
  • Champion our safety culture by proactively developing and implementing comprehensive safety programs, conducting thorough investigations, and creating an environment where employee and public safety is our highest priority.
  • Establish a mutually supportive working relationship with other field supervisors, regional and business administration support groups, external business contacts and planning workgroups.
  • Maintain good labour relations and employee morale by providing training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure vehicles and tools are effectively operated and maintained.
  • Sustain a current knowledge of rates, regulations, policies, procedures, practices, standards, and collective agreements.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial projections and will implement cost control measures.
  • Must be available for rotational supervisory standby.
  • Demonstrate ongoing personal commitment to the Capabilities Development Process.
  • Responsible for personal safety, that of co-workers, and those under your direction by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
  • Accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.
