About The Position

This position is for a 2nd Shift Transfer Car Operator, working from 3pm to 11pm. The operator reports to converting supervisors and supports Stacker operator duties. The role involves ensuring customer specifications are met, handling materials, maintaining a clean work area, and completing accurate records.

Requirements

Ability to meet the requirements of the job with or without accommodation
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler
Ability to use basic shop math
Ability to learn
Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team

Responsibilities

Following all safety rules and procedures
Reading factory work orders and corrugator schedules to learn customer specifications
Verifying (measuring) sheets to ensure that sheet sizes and score locations conform to customer specifications
Identifying sheets with chalk-written order numbers and/or load tags
Moving sheets off the stacker conveyors onto the transfer cart and onto the converting or sheet conveyors
Banding units of sheets
Removing, asiding, and identifying nonconforming materials (warp, loose, out-of-line, etc.)
Maintaining clean and organized work areas
Completing accurate records
Performing other duties as assigned by supervision
