About The Position

The T-Bird Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of the operation of the Thunderbird Complex employees. This role carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Complex policies & procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and monitoring training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The supervisor is responsible for all supervisory duties such as hiring, separations, training, performance appraisals, schedules, and drafting operational policies for the Thunderbird Complex. They will also assist the Thunderbird Complex Director in creating the annual operating budget and forecasting revenues, and must be familiar with emergency plans and able to put them into action. The role requires working cooperatively with Menominee Casino Resort personnel to ensure efficient operations, assisting in developing policy and planning for operational objectives, and enforcing all Federal, State, Local laws and Internal Controls. Maintaining high standards of service, health, sanitation, and safety, promoting positive public relations and employee relations, and reporting any issues to the Thunderbird Complex Director are also key responsibilities. The supervisor may need to warn or eject persons causing disturbances, oversee payouts of prizes, maintain accurate records and reports, ensure POS systems are online during emergencies, control labor costs, oversee opening and closing duties, transport documents/funds, participate in month-end inventories, and inspect daily products for quality and quantity. They will also follow proper procedures for processing invoices, verify items invoiced, ensure proper storage and security of inventories and assets, and act as a Cashier on an as-needed basis. Any other duties as assigned will also be part of the role.

Requirements

  • Minimum associate’s degree in business, Hospitality or related educational fields (e.g., Financial, Economics degree, CAP Training) and/or Minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing a successful Business, Hospitality, Retail, and/or Food & Beverage operation with no audit or financial exceptions.
  • Ability to read, interpret and enter proper financial information into daily, monthly and yearly business documents.
  • Ability to complete monthly reports to MIGA Board that includes trends.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work unusual hours, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to withstand a background check.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer skills and knowledge in Windows 2003 – 07 and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or employees.
  • Verifiable ability to work with mathematical concepts.
  • Verifiable ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • No felony conviction in the immediately preceding two years.
  • No crime of any kind related to gambling in the immediately preceding two years.
  • No crime of any kind related to theft, fraud, or misrepresentation in the immediately preceding two years.
  • No crime of any kind related to a crime of violence, domestic violence, or a drug offense involving sale or possession with intent to sell drugs during the immediately preceding two years.
  • Must meet minimum criminal background requirements necessary to obtain a gaming license as stated in the Menominee Tribal Code Chapter 347 and the Tribal Gaming Compact.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting issues, problems, or concerns to the Thunderbird Complex Director.

  • Overseeing payouts of prizes or awards and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports, checking Open Report, and maintaining invoices and transfers.
  • Ensuring POS systems are online during emergencies.
  • Controlling and monitoring labor costs on each shift.
  • Overseeing opening and closing duties for the Thunderbird Complex.
  • Transporting documents, items, or funds as needed.
  • Participating in month-end inventories and reviewing tally sheets.
  • Conducting daily inspections of all products, including food and beverage, to ensure they meet Company specifications.
  • Following proper procedures for processing invoices.
  • Verifying the quality and quantity of invoiced items.
  • Ensuring inventories and assets are properly stored and secured.
  • Acting as a Cashier on an as-needed basis.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned.
