The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the development of test plans, test scripts and test cases and executing these against the various components. The tester will work with the testing lead and IT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis, design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the required systems. This role involves providing advice on testing strategy, test plans, tool selection, and resource identification. The specialist will plan and organize testing efforts for large systems in both Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-GUI environments, including specialized tests and user acceptance testing. They will execute functional, integration, system, and regression tests, validate system behavior, and identify, document, and track software defects. Collaboration with developers to resolve issues, development of automated test scripts, integration into CI/CD pipelines, and performance/stress/load testing are key responsibilities. The role also requires knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations, collaboration with project stakeholders, participation in Agile ceremonies, and maintaining documentation of test results and quality metrics. Input for user manuals and release notes, and ensuring compliance with industry standards are also part of the role.
