About The Position

We have a job opening for a Systems Testing/QA Specialist - Senior for our direct client, the Province of Ontario. This role is located at 21 College Street, Toronto, Ontario, and is an onsite position with a duration of 11 months, with the possibility of extension.

Requirements

8+ years of demonstrated QA experience
Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle
Hands-on experiences with technologies/platforms such as SharePoint, Web Services, HTML, JavaScript and VBScript, COTS, SaaS and Cloud applications
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Organizational, creativity and perseverance skills
Verbal and written communication skills
Interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

Experience in planning, organizing and implementing testing efforts at the specified experience level
Knowledge of structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications
Experience coordinating testing activities with project managers and others team members
Experience with quality assurance principles, practices, tools and structured methodologies
Experience in quality assurance and testing, including unit testing, data testing, integration testing, load testing, performance testing, etc
A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines, with the ability to shift priorities quickly and effectively when needed

Responsibilities

Leading QA teams
Defect tracking using a collaborative tool to manage defects and change requests and to communicate status of these to all project participants
Use and configuration of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms, like Microsoft DevOps
Coordinating testing activities with project managers and other team members
Integrating QA/testing processes and standards
Ensuring effective resolution of defects and management of change requests are complete
Planning, organizing and implementing testing efforts
Initiating the specification, preparation, implementation and execution of tests, monitor the test results, checking the entrance and exit criteria
Executing functional tests, non-functional tests and systems level integration tests
Supporting user acceptance testing and participating in UAT activities
Contributing the testing perspective to other project activities, such as development, integration testing, etc
Creating testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases and test data for various types and phases of testing, including technical and business functional validation
Adapting planning based on test results and progress (tweaking the plan) and take necessary actions to compensate for problems
