We embody cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence into advanced robotics, quickly moving from the research lab into increasingly impactful roles across industrial spaces. The Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Department of Boston Dynamics (BD) seeks a Systems Test Engineer to help verify and validate the most capable humanoid robot system in the world. This role provides hands-on technical support to a peer group of test engineers and technicians. The team will include mechanical, electrical and software expertise. The Systems Test Engineer reports to the Test Programs Manager and helps BD continue development of the most capable full-body-manipulating mobile robots in the world.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the testing of new, custom mechatronic systems for real-world applications.
  • Strong interest in working with software systems that interact with robotic hardware.
  • Proficient in understanding engineering requirements and test plans test execution of practical tests.
  • Work planning, resource estimating, and execute according to plan
  • Exceptional communication, conflict management, and interpersonal skills
  • 0-2 years working with teams of test engineers and technicians

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive testing experience is a plus.
  • Data analysis & visualization

Responsibilities

  • Lead and own the execution plans at the sub-system level for program Design Verification Planning and Reporting (DVP&R)
  • Operate and maintain tools for our test framework across all verification test stands including: diagnosis, calibration, and data management.
  • Have intense focus on test system uptime, site reliability, and test reporting.
  • Drive diagnostics analysis for detecting actuator/robot failures and improving the pace of failure analysis
  • Collaborate and contribute to the goals of a high performing test team
  • Work alongside with reliability/systems engineers to develop and execute functional and accelerated life tests for actuators, batteries, wirings, sensors and full system
  • Ensure exceptional product system requirement quality to enable exceptional VV&T
  • Support system characterization and benchmarking activities
  • Action-oriented approach with exceptional execution
