As a Systems Technician, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customer. Provide installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware. Unix and Windows Hardware support - Troubleshoot and diagnose internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of personal computers and related systems. Install, and upgrade computers, printers, scanners, phones and other critical hardware. Conduct back-end device configuration, manage security settings, and protocols. Coordinate deployment of deliverables and products. Provides troubleshooting and support. Participate in the administration of multiple critical network systems. Must be able to track project studies, plans, action items, etc. Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. Ability to lift up to 75lbs. Ability to maneuver through small spaces in order to pull or run fibers under the floor. Work independently to resolve complex issues with critical issues. Knowledge and ability to replace servers or server parts. 12-Hour Shift Schedule from 5PM to 5AM , includes weekends and some holidays. Participates in special projects as required.

Requirements

  • Associates of Arts/Associates of Science
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Understanding of desktop computers, thin clients, servers, VoIP phones, video conferencing, cabling standards, installation, systems administration, testing equipment, and ITIL best practices
  • Must possess appropriate and current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment: CompTIA Security+ CE is the minimum certification
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • US citizenship required
