The System Team works over several shifts utilizing small but highly effective teams. Leading each of those teams is a Systems Team Leader. The Systems Technician III is responsible for helping the team to be successful on a day-to-day basis in the cleanroom, aligning and assembling subcomponents as well as integrating them into medium to large scale systems to meet build goals. This role requires collaboration with manufacturing engineering and quality team members on troubleshooting repairs, stations, and system failures.

Requirements

  • Minimum AS degree in a technical field; preferably in optics/photonics, or the equivalent of a HS Diploma/GED and 3+ years in a cleanroom environment.
  • In the absence of the equivalent of a HS diploma, 4+ years of working in an optics or photonics field and/or 4+ years in a cleanroom environment.
  • Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Strong technical aptitude and work ethic.
  • Excels at performing consistent re-occurring tasks over a duration of time.
  • Able to learn new skills and job functions.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Initiative to perform a variety of tasks to meet desired goals.
  • Very good manual dexterity.
  • May require standing or sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional lifting up to 15 – 45 lbs. as needed.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly workstation.
  • Capable of working in an ITAR registered facility.
  • Must be able to work scheduled shift and overtime as production schedules require.
  • US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with the handling, processing, and cleaning of optics
  • Background working with hand tools, power meters, oscilloscopes, optical tables and other photonics mounts/mirrors/translation stages.
  • Experience working with lasers, sub-component assemblies, or optics.
  • Good technical writing and oral communication skills, ability to read and comprehend work instructions.
  • Flexibility to train and work on different production lines as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and meet daily production goals, escalate issues and concerns towards build plans as they arise.
  • Support integration and characterization tests associated with lasers, optics, electronics, software, firmware, and sub-assemblies.
  • Ability to work with members of engineering and leadership to achieve and align on a common goal.
  • Understand data analysis, troubleshoot sub-assembly and system level failures to help find root cause within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Recognize and tag non-conforming material to be further inspected by the quality department.
  • Troubleshooting station/software failures while working alongside engineering to find a path forward.
  • Train incoming technicians on work processes and in house testing/tracking software.
  • Learn multiple high-technical product lines in the department.
