About The Position

As a System Technician - Forming, you will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need them. Your work will directly affect people's lives! This role involves performing lay-up operations of air-craft transparency fabrication, including bagging and lamination. You will also be responsible for inspecting parts, performing repairs/reworks/disassembly, and troubleshooting using Statistical Process Control (SPC). Additionally, you will provide engineering assistance, including fabricating prototypes, test coupons/parts, tooling, and providing testing support to manufacturing. Production support includes technical audits, troubleshooting, training, and improving current production processes. You will also be responsible for maintaining accuracy on floor stock inventory (Kanban) for components, raw materials, and chemicals, and must always follow all EH&S rules and regulations, comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, written work instructions, and customer or government requirements. Effective communication with employees at all levels is essential, as is the ability to read and interpret work instructions.

Requirements

  • 1 or more years or more of transparency lay-up experience.
  • Able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
  • Able to work inside clean-room and follow clean-room protocols
  • Able to obtain and maintain solder certification
  • Able to use measurement tools (including but not limited to calipers, depth gage, micrometer etc.)
  • Able to maintain good records.
  • Able to lift up-to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts (verify optics), Repair/Rework/disassembly, Problem solving/troubleshooting (SPC)
  • Provide Engineering assistance (including fabrication of prototype, test coupons/parts, tooling and testing support to manufacturing as required)
  • Provide production support (technical audit, troubleshoot, train and improve current production processes)
  • Follow all EH&S rules and regulations.
  • Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and written work instructions and customer or government requirements.
  • Effectively communicate with employees at all levels, read and interpret work instructions on work orders and documented procedures.
  • Maintain accuracy on floor stock inventory (Kanban) that includes components, raw materials, and chemicals used.
