About The Position

The Systems Supervisor role is designed to support the Lead Area Manager by providing leadership to a number of supporting functions. The System Supervisor is responsible for a wide variety of process engineering activities in various production departments as well as leading a multifunctional team in the department. He/she has responsibility for coordinating and implementing Arconic Business Systems principles across the department’s material flow paths and must have a complete view and understanding of manufacturing process. The successful Systems Supervisor will help to utilize fully the diverse workforce in the manufacturing department and will allow each individual equal opportunity to realize his/her full potential. Additionally, the System supervisor will need to focus the team on tactical projects in the areas of safety, recovery improvement, training, and production. System Supervisor will also be responsible for coordinating efforts of the team on process improvements, including capital projects, and will support and lead the execution of problem-solving efforts related to process and machine improvements. Although Systems supervisors work primarily daytime shifts M-F, it is expected that they work off-shifts as needed to support the functions of the business.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be a U.S. person status as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Management from an accredited institution.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Access) and MS Outlook.
  • Ability to multi-task and interpret, analyze and compile data in a user-friendly format.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to a number of supporting functions under the Lead Area Manager (these employees will be direct reports of the Systems Supervisor).
  • Manage Manufacturing Engineers in the Area.
  • Manage the Quality Systems Representative for the Department.
  • Manage the EHS Coordinator for the Department.
  • Manage Department Scheduler (where applicable).
  • Set annual performance expectations for each direct report.
  • Give mid-year and annual performance reviews for his/her direct reports.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to direct reports both positive and constructive to bolster positive behavior and close gaps that exist. Feedback should include specific performance examples.
  • Seek out information from others that are customers of his/her direct reports to gather feedback data through the year.
  • Coordinate and implement Arconic Business Systems principles across the department’s material flow paths.
  • Focus the team on tactical projects in the areas of safety, recovery improvement, training, and production.
  • Coordinate efforts of the team on process improvements, including capital projects.
  • Support and lead the execution of problem-solving efforts related to process and machine improvements.
