About The Position

The Systems Security Engineer III will help drive cybersecurity across development and operational environments for SNC’s ISR, Aviation, and Security business area and its SAOC mission. The role partners with engineering, operations, and security teams to integrate security throughout the software lifecycle and advance DevSecOps practices. This includes identifying vulnerabilities through static code analysis and fuzzing, improving secure software delivery through CI/CD automation, and addressing complex technical challenges while leading initiatives that strengthen system security and resilience. The position designs secure automation solutions across development, test, and production environments; improves infrastructure security, monitoring, and vulnerability management; assesses and remediates risks across systems, applications, and cloud environments; and supports incident response. It also provides technical leadership, mentorship, and strategic guidance on security and scalability initiatives, while researching emerging threats and technologies to strengthen security capabilities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related Engineering discipline; relevant experience may substitute for the required education.
At least 5 years of experience in IT security or a related field. Without a degree, at least 9 years of related experience is required; a higher-level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
Advanced understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
Experience with security frameworks and standards such as NIST and ISO 27001.
Proven work experience as a DevSecOps Engineer or in a similar development, operations, and security role.
Knowledge of cloud technologies and architectures, including Azure or AWS.
Experience with secure coding practices and automated security testing tools.
Proficiency with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
Experience with automation scripts and configuration management tools.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex security topics clearly.
Must have a current Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
U.S. citizenship is required because the position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.

Information Systems Security Engineer Professional (ISSEP), Certified Authorization Professional (CAP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification.
Security+, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) certification.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Linux certification or experience.
Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
