About The Position

Emerson is seeking a Sales professional in the process industry to join their Regional Sales team as a Systems Sales Account Manager for the Northeast Region. This is a 100% remote role, requiring the candidate to reside within the New York or Philadelphia area. The primary focus will be to develop and implement key account business strategies to strengthen customer relationships within the power utility, renewables, and data center generation markets. The role involves applying Outside Sales knowledge and skills to enhance the Power & Water Solutions (PWS) business, which provides automation controls and instrumentation for renewable energy, fossil fuel power generation, and water treatment plants. The goal is to upgrade existing plant control systems to promote sustainability and longevity of North America's power grid and wastewater infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in power generation, engineering, field service, marketing, or sales.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or power generation-related field.
  • 5 years of experience in process control sales, marketing, or related fields in power generation, power engineering, renewable energy, or related fields.
  • Experience establishing vertical and horizontal customer relationships.
  • Previous power plant experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communications skills, especially when addressing customers, clients, or official visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and cultivate business relationships with power utility, renewables, and data center generation industry Architects and Engineers, system integrators, and owner’s engineer(s), as well as Emerson’s sister business units and the impact partner network.
  • Provide competitive differentiation and pricing strategy to PWS management along with negotiation leadership.
  • Maintain knowledge of current utility water trends and business direction, and provide PWS Management with industry updates.
  • Implement sales pursuit plans, proposal preparation, and negotiation support to secure competitively held business and installed base, such as control system replacements.
  • Participate in select local professional meetings, trade shows, and conferences as a representative of Emerson.
  • Present and recommend appropriate Power & Water Solutions technology and services to meet specific customer business requirements.
  • Meet fiscal year territorial booking and margin objectives.
  • Develop and implement territory business plans.
  • Perform sales forecasting and maintain the Customer Relationship Management tool (CRM).
