About The Position

As a Systems Quality Engineer, you will analyze post-market data, lead complaint investigations, and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). You will collaborate cross-functionally with the Design and Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, and Risk Management Teams to drive continuous product and process improvements. This opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Software, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in software, systems, design, or quality engineering, ideally in medical devices or another regulated, high-reliability industry
  • Proven track record diagnosing complex software or system-level failures using technical evidence such as log files, replay data, configuration files, or product specifications
  • Experience with signal processing and large dataset analysis
  • Strong data analysis skills and the ability to translate findings into clear, meaningful recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in a technical context
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across teams and functions
  • Driven, motivated, curious, and able to work both independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Java, MATLAB, and C is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document technical investigations into product feedback and complaints involving medical devices
  • Review log files, replay data, configuration files, and product specifications to support technical investigations
  • Characterize reported issues, identify trends and assess potential product risks
  • Perform and document root-cause investigations for confirmed product issues in collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, and Quality Engineering teams
  • Translate investigation findings into actionable design or process improvements to enhance product performance and reliability
  • Build and maintain a technical knowledge base of investigation outcomes to support continuous improvement
