This is a technical position in the Director’s Office in the Division of Disease Control and Health Protection. This position provides systems administration for four operational units in the Division of Disease Control and Health Protection and includes the following duties and responsibilities. Provides IT support for all Division staff. This includes setup and configuration of IT equipment, hardware and software troubleshooting, working with OIT and venders to resolve issues, staff assistance and training, and meeting support. Works with Division programs to find more efficient and modern ways to collect, process and display data. Utilize DOH resources and approved technologies to streamline and automate processes to increase speed, accuracy, and availability of information. Create, refine, and maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation to ensure optimized workflows are centralized and repeatable. Follows Agency policies and best practices for IT operations and security. Participate in Agency and Division IT meetings. Make sure devices and software are up to date. Manages Active Directory Organizational Unit. Maintains network file storage for Division needs. Monitors and responds to IT security issues and helps educate staff on security practices (VPN use, Phishing, etc.). Research new technology and products and evaluate them for Division needs. Involved in the purchasing process for IT related items. Keeps track of IT equipment and helps with Agency annual inventory. Help with the IT surplus process for the Division. Performs other duties as assigned.
