About The Position

The Workforce Education Data Systems (WEDS) office is seeking an individual to serve in a full-time position as a Systems Project Analyst. As a Systems Project Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the data systems that drive statewide workforce education reporting, analysis, and decision‑making. Your work will directly support educators, institutions, policymakers, and partner agencies across Florida. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of data, technology, and public service, with meaningful projects that evolve over time.
Requirements
- Experience in systems analysis, project coordination, business analysis, information technology, data management, or a related field
- At least two years of experience using SAS Programming, SAS Enterprise Guide, or other programming languages to develop, maintain, and modify complex programs and processes.
- Experience preparing and maintaining both technical and non-technical documentation, reports, and procedures.
- Knowledge of database management principles, data structures, and data quality practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice To Haves
- A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, statistics, or mathematics.
- Strong experience with SQL and/or SAS programming.
- Experience working with relational databases and reporting tools.
- A strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- The ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- The initiative to manage tasks independently and see projects through to completion.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of information technology systems and applications.
- Write and execute SQL queries and leverage SAS programming for data analysis, data collection and reporting.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and functional specifications.
- Participate in design, development, testing, and deployment of system enhancements.
- Review system specifications to ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Analyze and validate data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
- Assist in the design and improvement of database structures, procedures, and workflows.
- Create, maintain and update procedural documentation and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external agencies, and district‑level partners.
