Program Expectations Must be able to commit to the full ten‑week program from June 24-August 28 Full‑time employment decisions based on program performance will be made immediately following the returnship, with employment beginning September 4 without a break in service About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking Systems Operations Engineer for our Glide – Relaunch USA returnship for the Technology business division in the Infrastructure Operations & Reliability (IOR) – Platform Frontline Group. This role supports Critical Infrastructure Operations within Platform Management, providing hands‑on production support for distributed infrastructure and enterprise platforms. In this role, you may: Provide hands‑on production support for distributed platforms, ensuring rapid incident response and service recovery Participate in incident management, including triage, escalation, coordination, remediation, and post‑incident reviews Execute change management activities in accordance with established controls and risk management practices Support enterprise disaster recovery (DR) readiness and testing for high‑severity events Monitor system health and performance using enterprise monitoring and observability tools; proactively identify risks Collaborate with engineering, command center, and cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and ensure effective handoffs Contribute to problem management and root‑cause analysis, driving operational improvements Support shift‑left operations by transitioning responsibilities from engineering teams into IOR Create and maintain runbooks and operational documentation to improve mean time to acknowledge (MTTD) and mean time to recovery (MTTR) Participate in on‑call rotations, providing production support aligned to U.S. AZ business hours

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Rejoining the workforce after taking a current break from your professional career of at least 2 years

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting production environments, including incident, problem, and change management
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
  • Experience using monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Splunk, ServiceNow)
  • Strong understanding of ITIL service management practices
  • Ability to analyze and resolve moderately complex issues across distributed systems and enterprise platforms
  • Experience with distributed infrastructure, large‑scale applications, or enterprise platforms
  • Exposure to automation, scripting, or configuration management
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
  • Ability to analyze performance trends and recommend operational or process improvements
  • Experience serving as an internal resource or consultant on technical tools and processes
