About The Position

Understanding the business and technical operations of various departments, provides data connection and integrity across disparate systems, thus generating a seamless integrated solution/system for all entities within the OhioHealth enterprise. Instructs, directs, and checks work of other staff. May serve as a team lead and work with cross team for build, test and run activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree: Computer Engineering
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience (3-5 years)
  • Field of Study/Experience: Healthcare, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Engineering
  • Experience in Interface development, support and maintenance.
  • Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of an interface engine e.g. Cloverleaf, network protocols (TCP/IP, LU2) and application protocols (HL7, ANSI X12, XML/REST)
  • Requires 3 to 5 years’ Experience in systems analysis and programming on various hardware platforms.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX and TCL is required.
  • Must be willing and able to learn new technologies as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Thorough knowledge of the Cloverleaf interface engine, network protocols (TCP/IP, LU2) and application protocols (HL7, ANSI X12, XML/REST).
  • Project Management, Team Lead, or related experience.
  • Requires 3 to 5 years’ experience in systems analysis and programming on various hardware platforms.
  • Experience in FHIR API standards and API/Web Services and integration with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop real-time and batch interfaces between disparate systems, using an interface engine to link multiple platforms, assorted network protocols and various transaction formats primarily using the HL 7 standard. Development involves analysing, designing, programming, testing, and documenting specifications, user procedures, and error-handling methods.
  • Perform project management function by developing and maintaining project work plans, communicating and coordinating with vendors and leading project work groups to enhance existing or new system requirements.
  • Assist other departments and areas in the selection of system software from an interface standpoint, advising where to obtain data, recommending format and protocols to be used and approving interface viability.
  • Perform and/or mentor staff on problem determination and resolution for application software errors. Includes 24 hour on-call support.
  • Skills in troubleshooting, incident management, change and release management, and problem solving.
  • Troubleshooting any production issues other than enhancements, proactive maintenance of applications such as certificate management, application credential management, validating applications thru infrastructural updates.
  • As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.
