About The Position

The Systems Integration Engineer – Launcher Systems supports the design, integration, testing, and sustainment of Launcher Station platforms used for (UAS) platform(s). This role is hands-on, cross-functional, and focused on building reliable electromechanical and networked systems that operators can depend on in the field. The ideal candidate brings practical experience integrating hardware, electronics, software, networking, and operator interfaces, and is motivated to grow into a broader systems role.

Requirements

  • 3–8 years of experience integrating electromechanical or hardware-based systems, ideally involving operator interfaces or control systems.
  • Familiarity with IP-based networking (switches, routers, VLANs, firewalls)
  • Exposure to line-of-sight (LOS) communications systems or SATCOM systems
  • Exposure to GNSS systems
  • Experience generating engineering documentation (drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, test procedures).
  • Hands-on experience integrating components across mechanical, electrical, and/or networking domains.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and field teams.
  • Must be based in, or willing to relocate to, Irvine, CA
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience integrating hardware into secure or government network environments
  • Understanding of requirements development, system decomposition, and V&V.
  • Experience with system-level test planning and integration testing.
  • Background in UAS, aerospace, robotics, defense systems, or ground control systems.
  • Experience with ruggedized or mobile platforms such as tactical shelters or vehicle-based ground systems.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, system hardening, or compliance requirements for defense networks.
  • Experience supporting field deployments or sustaining engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Manage design and integration of electromechanical, electrical, and network components into Ground Control Station systems (fixed, mobile, and shelter-based).
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Flight Operations, and Program teams to evaluate existing launcher systems and implement improvements.
  • Assist in developing system concepts and contributing to next-generation launcher solutions.
  • Work with Manufacturing to integrate new assemblies and subassemblies, resolve build issues, and support design transfer.
  • Produce engineering documentation including drawings, wiring diagrams, network layouts, assembly instructions, acceptance test procedures, and system specifications.
  • Participate in testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities for new and existing launcher hardware.
  • Support field operations with deployment, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of launcher systems.
  • Follow relevant safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements associated with launcher systems.
