The Systems Integration Engineer role is based on-site in Long Beach, CA, 5 days per week. This position is responsible for the design, development, and integration of mechanical, electrical, electronic systems, and aerospace components throughout the entire product lifecycle from concept through manufacturing and assembly. Key aspects include 3D CAD design, simulation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure product performance, manufacturability, assembly, and compliance with aerospace standards. The role also involves designing testing requirements for components and the final product.

Requirements

  • Aerospace experience is an absolute MUST
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / aerospace engineering
  • 5–10+ years of experience in mechanical design, product engineering, or aerospace manufacturing
  • Strong mechanical, electrical design and product development knowledge
  • Familiarity with assembly processes, fixation methods and part interfaces
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar)
  • Understanding of GD&T, materials, and aerospace manufacturing processes
  • Experience with simulation, analysis, and design validation
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, tooling, and process optimization
  • Familiarity with system integration and cross-functional engineering collaboration
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) principles

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OEM or Tier-1 suppliers preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop 2D/3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for aerospace components (e.g., using SolidWorks/CATIA)
  • Design and integrate mechanical systems, assemblies, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes
  • Perform simulation, analysis, and validation to ensure performance, quality, and compliance
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (design, production, quality) for system integration and product development
  • Ensure design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM-DFA) and support process planning for machining and assembly
  • Prepare engineering documentation (drawings, BOMs, process sheets) and maintain design records
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), testing, and troubleshooting of integrated systems
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace standards (e.g., GD&T, AS9100, ISO 9001 OEM requirements)
  • Design all testing requirements for the components and final product
