About The Position

Bowhead seeks a Lead Systems Integration Architect to support our customer on the PICRD II contract in Colorado Springs, CO. This role involves participating in J6 IT Governance processes, assisting the Government in receiving customer/user communication requirements, and overseeing the development and coordination of technical solutions for requirements, ensuring compatibility within the HQ USSPACECOM infrastructure. The architect will develop and maintain Communication and Information Systems Installation Records (CSIRs) and Preventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI) reports, ensuring documentation meets agreed-upon standards. They will provide information to the Government using databases and other tools, develop technical solutions, cost estimates, total cost of ownership/operation data, POA&Ms, LCM inputs/changes, and recommendations. The role requires interfacing with USSPACECOM and external stakeholders in various forums, chairing or co-chairing meetings, and supporting the examination of mission requirements to develop technical requirements for multi-level classification networks. The architect will interact with customers/users to develop and review communication system requirements, compare needs with existing infrastructure, identify shortfalls, and integrate communication systems for interoperability. They will oversee the development and review of CR/TS documented in a service design package for solutions related to infrastructure, network, computer systems, software, finance, installation, outside agency coordination, information assurance, and compatibility assurance. Providing technical network and systems engineering expertise to document technical solutions in a service design package meeting customer requirements is crucial. The architect will work within the J6 IT governance process to assist the Government in defining requirements, developing technical solutions, and work plans consistent with architectural and information system security guidelines. Developing local procedures for preparing and processing communication system requirements and overseeing technical solution coordination per the Government-approved communications requirements process, documented in a service design package, are key responsibilities. Monitoring and informing the requesting organization of requirement status through design, implementation, and accreditation stages, and detailing the impact on infrastructure, methods, and means of implementation, including system description, points of contact, implementation dates, hardware/software requirements, funding, and information classification, are also part of the role. Determining available resources for equipment installation and maintenance, and including requirements in the project/implementation plan, coordinating logistics support, technical data, manpower, facilities, packaging, handling, storage, and transportation with appropriate agencies are also expected. Requirements

  • BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution fulfills the educational requirement.
  • 6+ years of technical experience.
  • Meets the Core and Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Tasks (KSATs) defined in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework for Work Role 632 (NIST: SP-SYS-002).
  • Experience performing system loading and (re)configuration, user account management, system backup and recovery, troubleshooting, removing, and replacing components and peripherals, installing software, operating systems and drivers.
  • Experience with Ansible, Windows 7, Windows 2008, Windows 10, VMware ESXi v5 or later, and Windows 2012, LINUX, UNIX (including SUN, SGI, and PC variants), and Office 365.
  • Experience providing Microsoft SharePoint administrative and management functions.
  • Experience maintaining equipment operations through Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI) and repair schedules.
  • Required: CompTIA Security+
  • Must currently hold a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in J6 IT Governance processes.
  • Assist the Government in receiving customer/user communication requirements using established processes and tools.

  • Interact with customers/users to develop and review communication system requirements.
  • Compare potential needs with existing infrastructure, identify shortfalls/excesses, integrate communication systems for interoperability.
