About The Position

This is a senior individual contributor role on a small IT team, supporting a broad and varied technology environment across SOLV4EX and Discover Energy Systems. Reporting to the Director of IT, this role will take ownership of key systems, support infrastructure across multiple locations, and act as a primary escalation point for helpdesk and technical issues across a geographically distributed workforce. This is not a narrow, single-focus role. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between infrastructure, identity and access management, endpoint security, SaaS platforms, user support, and general troubleshooting. As a SOLV4EX team member, a typical week will include the following: End User Support & IT Operations: Act as a senior escalation point for helpdesk issues and support users across multiple locations. Oversee IT onboarding and offboarding, administer core support platforms, and help ensure employees have reliable access to the tools and systems they need. Identity, Access & Collaboration Platforms: Administer identity and access management systems, including user provisioning, SSO, MFA, and access troubleshooting. Support Microsoft 365 and other collaboration platforms used across the organization. Infrastructure, Network & Security: Manage and support network, endpoint, cloud, and security infrastructure across a geographically distributed environment. This includes supporting firewalls, VPNs, endpoint security, monitoring tools, email security, and related infrastructure. Cloud, Systems & Monitoring: Support cloud-hosted infrastructure, server environments, backups, DNS, certificates, monitoring, and disaster recovery processes. Maintain awareness of system health and escalate risks with clear recommendations. Operational Tools, Assets & Documentation: Support business-critical operational tools, maintain IT asset records, and keep technical documentation and knowledge base materials current. Projects, Vendors & Continuous Improvement: Participate in IT projects, system migrations, new location buildouts, vendor coordination, license renewals, and process improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and strengthen IT operations. The Location: This position is located at the SOLV4EX Head Office in Calgary, AB. Candidates must be located in Calgary.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on IT operations or systems administration experience, ideally in a multi-site or distributed organization.
  • College or University diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience; we value what you can do over credentials alone.
  • Comfortable independently managing a broad platform portfolio with minimal day-to-day direction.
  • Experience supporting distributed users with a mix of remote and occasional on-site support.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft cloud identity, endpoint management, and device deployment tools.
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation to streamline administrative tasks.
  • Exposure to Linux server administration.
  • Experience supporting physical security systems, phone systems, or other business infrastructure platforms.
  • Familiarity with project, ticketing, documentation, or collaboration tools.
