About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced systems engineer to lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to develop mission capabilities on space qualified hardware for deployment to a space platform. Your responsibilities will include managing the system engineering content and work products, which includes developing the requirements baseline, design and integration, to ultimately perform qualification testing and delivery of the product. Under your technical leadership, the team will utilize digital engineering and model-based systems engineering principles to perform operational concept development, feasibility studies, design, development, performance modeling, and hardware/software evaluation. This role will also entail preparing and delivering technical presentations internally and for customer meetings. This position is based out of our Merrimack NH facilities in the Northeast. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration due to the nature of this particular role, this role will be performed fulltime on site. This position is contingent on contract award.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance and eligible to acquire Top Secret/SCI and additional SAP/SAR clearance.
  • Prior experience leading a medium size team of System Engineers.
  • Experience performing systems engineering activities across the development cycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test).
  • Familiarity with RF applications and data links
  • Familiarity performing integration on space qualified hardware
  • Working experience with technical performance measurements and cost account management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including experience interfacing with upper management; customer facing.

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Working experience with Radar applications.
  • Experience with integration and thermal vac/vibration/shock testing on space qualified hardware
  • Bid and proposal experience on major life cycle programs.
  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline and 11 years of experience or Ph.D. with 9 years of experience.
  • Working experience with Model based systems engineering principles with tools such as Magic Draw.
  • Familiarity or experience with Agile Systems Engineering
