About The Position
Pratt and Whitney Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern with interest in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), to support next-generation propulsion programs. The candidate will be responsible for the development of system models for one or more programs. Candidate will also be involved in Pratt & Whitney’s digital transformation initiatives and be a contributor to P&W EDSI standard work. This position provides the opportunity to be involved with cutting-edge digital engineering capabilities for advanced military and commercial propulsion programs. Candidate responsibilities will be commensurate with their background, experience, and education.
Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or STEM major obtained by start date.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- DoD Clearance: Secret
- Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
Nice To Haves
- Prior internship or co-op experience in the aerospace and defense industry
- Experience using a SysML or UML tool, such as IBM Rhapsody ®, Cameo/Magic Draw ®, or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A passion for learning about and pursuing a career in aviation and aerospace
- Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in responding to new business challenges
Responsibilities
- Develop Systems Engineering Models in order to perform systems engineering tasks including: Deriving and analyzing requirements, defining system logical and physical architectures, defining interfaces, requirements analysis, defining system logical and physical architectures, defining interfaces, verification planning, and trade studies
- Interface with engineering leads, team members, and other discipline teams and provide task progress updates
- Participate in customer and/or internal technical reviews throughout the product lifecycle
- Ensure consistent application of engineering best practices and comply with EDSI standard work
