We are seeking a Functional Lead for the Systems Engineering (SE) discipline at SNC ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS). In this role, you will have the ability to chart the course for Systems Engineering for the IAS business area via people, processes, tools, and training as well as influence high-level decisions for the betterment of Systems Engineering. Systems engineers at SNC research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to specialized military systems. You'll conceptualize and develop new processes spanning the entire product life cycle. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries. Responsibilities: People: Support the Systems Engineering discipline through mentorship, talent calibration, hiring, program reviews, and communication. In essence, taking care of the Systems Engineers at IAS and ensuring that standards are upheld. Work closely and align with IAS SE SME in developing and implementing the strategic 3-5-10 year SE roadmap. Hold responsibility for the execution of 1-year tactical roadmap for Systems Engineering. Lead specialized SE team to support functional and program needs across IAS. Processes: Establish and manage processes for Systems Engineering execution and technical excellence at SNC. Including document creation, instruction generation, reference authoring, and the continuous improvement of all SE documentation, ensuring alignment with current Aerospace and Defense industry standards. Tools: Chart the course for current and future tool implementation at SNC. To include requirements management, architecture development, simulation and analysis, configuration management, risk management, traceability and tool integration. Stay informed on current and emerging SE technologies and methodologies through internal and external communities of practice. Support product realization team in SE tool trade studies, capability assessments, user checkout, and tool adoption. Training: Support external training selection as well as development, administration, and support of general or specialized internal training for all SNC Systems Engineers. Risk Management: Identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle. Configuration Management: Managing changes to system configurations and maintaining documentation to ensure consistency and traceability. Change Management: Implementing processes to evaluate and control changes to the system design and documentation. Project Management and Coordination: Working closely with Program Managers and Project Engineers to help with planning and managing of project schedules, resources, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
