About The Position

RTX is offering an exceptional foundation for individuals to work on complex problems, advance their skills, and create a safer, more connected world through their internships, co-ops, and full-time careers. This co-op position focuses on systems engineering within Special Operations Aviation, specifically supporting avionics capabilities for MH-47 and MH-60 helicopters. The role involves learning how customer and system-level requirements are captured, decomposed, allocated, reviewed, and verified. It also includes developing engineering requirements and test procedures, and performing hands-on testing in Systems Integration Laboratories (SILs) that replicate aircraft avionics and cockpit environments. This position offers insight into how engineering decisions made in Cedar Rapids support aircraft and crews operating in demanding environments, and how complex aircraft systems progress from customer need to fielded capability. It also provides exposure to decision-making processes where software, hardware, aircraft interfaces, and operational requirements intersect, and how engineers troubleshoot complex integrated systems. Additionally, it offers experience with requirements and verification management tools and Agile development practices on a large aerospace program.
