About The Position

The Decision Advantage division at Leidos currently has an opening for a TS cleared Systems Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Department of the Air Force at Beale AFB or Alexandria, VA. We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer who will be at the forefront of integrating, testing, demonstrating, deploying, and operating new functionalities from multiple vendors into a customer system. The Systems Engineering team leads, collaborates, and synchronizes efforts across decoupled task orders, ensuring efficient DevSecOps processes and low-risk deployments of software and hardware capabilities. The successful candidate will bring comprehensive expertise across the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements management, architecture maintenance, configuration management, and accreditation support. This role will be central to ensuring that capabilities are scalable, resilient, secure, compliant, and aligned to system integration processes, technical baselines, and mission outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8-12 years of progressive experience in systems engineering, with a significant focus on large-scale, complex government programs, preferably within the DoW or Air Force.
  • Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
  • Proven expertise with the full systems development lifecycle (SDLC) in an Agile or SAFe environment, including requirements definition, system design, architecture, implementation oversight, and verification/validation.
  • Demonstrated experience in deriving, analyzing, and providing expert recommendations for the decomposition and prioritization of requirements for complex, integrated software and hardware systems within Command and Control (C2) and Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) environments.
  • Experience supporting complex system integration and test activities across multiple environments and release stages.
  • Proficiency in managing and maintaining system architectures, including External Interface Control Documents (EICD) and architecture artifacts (e.g., OV-I, OV-2, sequence diagrams, use cases).
  • Experience with DevSecOps pipelines, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated compliance, and software release management.
  • Familiarity with architecture governance, configuration management, and engineering review processes in highly controlled mission environments.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders including program management, systems engineering, software, cyber, test, operations, and government customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with defense mission systems, command and control platforms, or systems operating in operationally sensitive environments.
  • Familiarity with Open Architecture (OA) or Open Mission Systems (OMS) concepts.
  • Knowledge of DoD security and compliance frameworks, including RMF, NIST, DISA STIGs, JSIG, vulnerability management, and audit/accreditation processes.
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering tools and digital engineering ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior program leadership and government stakeholders.
  • SAP Program experience preferred.
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP or CSEP) certification.
