About The Position

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our team. The Systems Engineer responsibilities include: Integrate and implement the systems engineering process for turbine-based propulsion systems and the interfacing aircraft systems, including defining requirements, performing analyses, and tracking reliability, hazards and risk management for the lifecycle of the assigned program Conduct system safety analysis including fault tree creation, system hazard analysis, FMEA and FMECA generation, reliability disciplines and failure investigations Work with cross functional engineering teams to organize data and information in accordance customer requirements and Williams best practices Substantiate and inform design decisions for technical leadership Define and track system, subsystem and component verification and validation Work closely with the Program Management team to collaborate with the customer throughout the project Produce timely customer-defined data packages at regular intervals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • 5+ years of technical experience within Systems Engineering
  • Broad technical knowledge base of turbine engine or airframe technology
  • Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle, roles and functions, including deriving requirements into actionable steps
  • Experience with FMEA, FMECA or Fault Tree Analysis
  • Familiarity with Electronics or Software systems
  • Demonstrates ability as a team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships across the organization
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills with effective negotiation and conflict-resolution experience
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and ability to produce a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Possesses written communication skills and proficiency in document preparation
  • Familiarity with commercial standards (SAE ARP 4754, SAE ARP 4761, DO-160, DO-178 and DO-254 certification) and the equivalent military standards (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-882, etc.)
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Active US Security Clearance
  • Direct experience on US Air Force digital engineering programs
  • Proficiency with MBSE processes/principles/tools and Digital Transformation methodologies to enable application of these approaches across diverse products
  • Experience with MBSE and Engineering software tools
