About The Position

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing data ingestion processes, developing data synchronization solutions, and conducting data analysis. The Systems Engineer will also be responsible for writing requirements documents, collaborating with stakeholders, and supporting the software development lifecycle. Additionally, the role requires cultivating customer relationships, establishing program organizations, delivering presentations, and interfacing with geographically dispersed development teams. The position follows Agile Development processes and full life cycle development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field.
  • 2+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience with data analytics and management tools.
  • Familiarity with data ingestion techniques and synchronization methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of both logical and physical data models.
  • Experience in writing technical documentation, including requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience in requirements solicitation and development.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data query languages.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated success in leading tasks on schedule and achieving all requirements in project roles.
  • Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage data ingestion processes to ensure efficient handling of datasets.
  • Develop and maintain data synchronization solutions to guarantee data consistency across various systems.
  • Conduct data analysis and derive insights to support strategic objectives.
  • Write clear and detailed requirements documents, including acceptance criteria to ensure alignment with stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical data solutions.
  • Utilize logical and physical data models to inform system design and database architecture.
  • Perform data quality assessments and implement measures to enhance data integrity.
  • Monitor data processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the software development process from initial needs elicitation to delivery and fielding.
  • Cultivating customer relationships to develop further opportunities within the customer community.
  • Establish and maintain a program organization that effectively addresses customer requirements.
  • Deliver presentations to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders.
  • Interface with geographically dispersed development teams to ensure compliance with emerging standards and requirements.
  • Lead independent technical investigations and provide recommendations for technical solutions.
  • Follow Agile Development processes and full life cycle development: requirements, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
